Belgrade, 26th November 2011 – The movie “Ginger – more than a game”, a story about Radivoj Korać, is officially nominated for two most prestigious awards at the 33rd international film festival in Palermo. The movie is nominated for the best movie and the best director.
“The movie about Korać is a result of the unselfish work of all members of the team who built this project with me. It is a great honor to see that your effort during several years is recognized by the best critics in the movie industry. I am really happy because of the opportunity to present the movie beyond the borders of Serbia”, underlines Gordan Matic, the producer and director of the movie.
Production of the movie about Radivoj Korać was supported by International Olympic Committee, International Basketball Federation FIBA, Ministry of Sport and Youth, Basketball Federation of Serbia and Belgrade’s Secretariat for Culture, and under the sponsorship of the president of Serbia, Boris Tadić.
The movie about Radivoj Korać was for the first time presented at the official screening in Kaunas Arena in Lithuania, on 14th September 2011, within the official program of European Basketball Championship, attended by basketball delegations, special guests and sports journalists. The positive reactions were reported not just by domestic media but also by journalists from Lithuania, Spain, Italy and France.
The official annunciation of the winner is scheduled for 19th December 2011 in Theatre Politeama in Palermo.
