More than one hundred and eighty children from the elementary school “Sveti Sava” Vracar for the first time over this scool year participated in educational performance called "Liftovanje" that prepared by PE "Gradsko Stambeno".
This performance is a part of the educational campaign "Elevator Is Not a Toy" by PE "Gradsko Stambeno" proudly carried out for fifth year. The campaign promotes the safety of the youngest school-age children. PE “Stambeno” continuously works on a prevention of possible accidents caused by incorrect use of elevators and adoption of residential etiquette by pupils. So far the performance has been seen by more than four thousand children in Belgrade.
Opening the series of ten presentations for this school year, General Manager of PE “Gradsko stambeno" Slobodan Miljkovic, thanked the representatives of the Belgrade schools and the media for the supporting this initiative of “Stambeno”. "We operate responsibly and with this play we act preventively as the safety of youngest always comes first," said Miljkovic.
The interactive play "Liftovanje“ in an understandable and very interesting way is aimed to familiarize children with the rules of safe use of elevators. Educational posters with cartoon characters have been placed in residential buildings with elevators in Belgrade. PE “Gradsko stambeno” made a step further, and presented "alive" cartoon characters from posters. They educate kids through games and songs. The model of peer education has proven to be very successful among school-age children.Pupils experience different situations that can occur them when using the elevator together with their friends, Marko and Sanja. A repairman Joca and fairy Liftila indicate children what must be done in these conditions. The play and song "Elevator Is Not A Toy” specially composed for the this campaign have been met with a great response and active participation of children. In this way, the youngest users of PE "Stambeno" are further animated to adopt rules of etiquette in an elevator. That will permanently contribute to their acceptance of security standards as well as raising awareness about their own safety.
