Letter of Intent between the Public Enterprise "Gradsko stambeno" and the Telecommunications Company "Telekom Serbia" with respect to the implementation of video surveillance in the elevator machine rooms in Belgrade was signed today. Cooperation between these two companies involves the design, development and implementation of video surveillance of elevators via Internet Protocol. The letter of intent was signed by the General Manager of the Public Enterprise "Gradsko stambeno", Slobodan Miljkovic and Manager for Commercial Affairs of the company "Telekom Serbia", Vladimir Lucic.

In the past, PE "Stambeno" has implemented a pilot surveillance project. For the further realization of this project company "Telekom Serbia" is selected as a partner. The company "Telekom Serbia" will provide a complete telecommunications infrastructure and equipment in order to directly connect security cameras to the surveillance center of PE "Gradsko stambeno".

In the next two years video surveillance will be installed in all residential buildings that are included in the system of the PE "Stambeno" . The first phase will include the installation of video surveillance in elevator machine rooms to raise the quality of services through additional control and repair of elevators. Also, this project will leed to adherance to all regulatory standards and international regulations concerning the safety of elevators, including the creation of conditions for audio-visual communication with a person trapped in an elevator.

"We consider the security of citizens, public and private property as the common interest of all members of society. Particularly, telecommunications companies with developing technologies can significantly contribute. We believe that video surveillance will contribute to greater public safety in elevators. In addition, Public Enterprise "Gradsko stambeno" will get opportunity to simplify the operation in case of failures and theft, "said Vladimir Lucic, Manager for Commercial Affairs of the company" Telekom Serbia ". He added that "Telekom Serbia" has started placing the video surveillance on the roads of several towns in Serbia during last year.

General Manager of the Public Enterprise "Gradsko stambeno" on that occasion stated: "The obligation of the Public Enterprise" Gradsko stambeno "is to continuously work on improving the quality of our services, but also to take care of the safety and security of its users. The implementation of video surveillance will improve the service through additional control maintenance service, which means that we have a record of all entries in the machine room."
